Scope

A programme to extend the national hydrometeorological network with modern observation systems.

A programme to extend the national hydrometeorological network with modern observation systems. TDS evaluated the coverage of the existing network and selected the new sites from hydrological and hydrometeorological criteria, designed the stations, then supplied, installed and commissioned 130 new climate, rainfall and surface-water-level stations and integrated their data into the national transmission, processing and visualisation chain.

Outcome

What the platform delivers

  • 130 stations sited, built and reporting into the national system; denser rainfall and flow coverage for the Water and Climate Atlas and for flood forecasting.
